I hear you, Pradeep. My worries are quite the same.

Enablers of the Taliban-led invasion of Afghanistan must be sanctioned and isolated at the global stage. Their days of denialism are over; they must now face the music. If left unchecked, Pakistan-sponsored terrorism would eliminate democracy from other parts of the region as well, like how they have done in Afghanistan.

However, these talks go in vain if the world is ready to recognise the Taliban, precisely what Pakistan has been appealing for. You can’t punish Pakistan and, at the same time, legitimise their work of art. This is especially true now that the U.N. is also contemplating the Taliban’s request to represent Afghanistan, including at the U.N. Women’s Rights Commission. We will have to wait and watch whether the western world prioritises setting things right at this moment or they want to play some more follies with the military’s puppet Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
